(PCS to Germany + Dental Clearance)?
I have a few teeth that need root canals and its going to cost quite a bit of $. My mouth, gums etc are completely healthy! My Q to you is, will these root canals mess up my dental clearance?? Im not sick, not in pain and really the only reason I have not fixed them already is do to money and 3 kids needing braces (lol). My hubby is AF and our family is suppose to PCS with him from the states to Ramstein Germany.
Answers would be appreciated, especially if you are aware of the dental policies!! Thanks 
The root canals may or may not stop you. It really depends upon what your dentist puts down on the paperwork. Be aware… Ramstein is a VERY large and busy base, and dental care overseas is hard to come by at its best. As a result, they can be pretty picky. So, if your dentist marks that it may need to be done in the future, but he doesn’t see it as an issue, they dental clinic may not worry about it. However, if he were to mark that they will need to be dealt with in the near future…. they may force your hand.
On a side note… do your kids have braces or do you just know it’s coming up? The braces can be a stopper as well, especially if the orthodontist is already overloaded. Now, if they don’t have them yet… it’s not an issue. Just be aware that they probably will have to wait until you all return from overseas before they’ll be able to get them.

One of the things often overlooked in all the discussions about sensible measures to protect yourself from the transfer or germs is a PC keyboard. Whilst many keyboards are personal and typically only used by a dedicated person its not uncommon for keyboards in general use to carry and pass on germs, bacteria etc.
If you think about it during the course of the day we touch thousands of different objects that other people will have touched and handled. We then merrily sit down at a PC type away. With more and more people also eating and drinking at their desk spillages, crumbs, the occasional sneeze is an everday occurance. The keyboard then becomes an excellent breeding ground for bacteria, in fact, quite a lot of bacteria. US Studies have shown that there are at typically 510 bacteria per cm2 on a keyboard.
Whilst a regular USB PC Keyboard can be cleaned in areas of heavy use it might be worth considering a waterproof and washable keyboard. These waterproof keyboards have the benefit of being reistant to sprays and detergents. They can be washed under running water and they are totally waterproof. As such a Waterproof USB keyboard is ideal for use in Hospitals, GP and dental surgeries, libraries, industrial areas etc.
Another added benefit of the washable PC keyboards is that they are flexible – they can be rolled up and stored away. Handy if you need a full sized keyboard in the field where you might be subject to the weather and dirty conditions. Is this a dental “D”?

If it was a normal D (called alveolar) it should undergo the process known as “flapping”, like in “sadder”,”ladder”, but it don’t; that made me think it’s a dental D, not present in standard English. What do you think? Please answer me!!!
