James Mitose and Kempo?

Originally Kempo (or Kenpo) was the chinese martial art founded hundeds of years ago. A hard style, predecessor to most of today’s martial arts with many circular moves. I also read that it was ported to Japan after an invasion in mainland China and thus Mitose’s family learned it and Grandmaster James too. However I notice that it totally lacks circular moves, it’s more like karate (linear) and also Dr Mitose named it Kempo Jiu Jitsu (mixing japanese and chinese arts probably?). My question is -although superbly effective- how close is Professor Mitose’s Kempo to the original art. My source is some chinese transcripts and of course Dr Mitose’s manual on “Kempo Jiu Jitsu”.

Unfortunately no one will ever know for sure since it was a well known fact that James Mitose was psychologically disturbed and very selfish. In his later years he denounced all his black belts with the exception of a few including denouncing Ed Parker who was one of his highest ranked students at one time.

Mitose was aggressive and rude…his demeanor had little to do with his abilities but he was famous for bringing Kempo to Hawaii more than anything else. Mitose also was charged with murder to attest to his character which was well known to be very flawed.

When Mitose passed on he took with him the truth of his history and studies. He would often change his stories and his system along with never giving credible or factual evidence of his knowledge which is a shame because he was very good at Kempo.

hello. A while ago i read a novel in which Earth’s curvature was non-linear – the area between West Coast of the states and Japan was seemingly infinite despite the Earth remaining globe-shaped.
