If you try to pass counterfeit money, and the receiver recognizes it as such, they are required to keep it, and call the Secret Service.

If the Secret Service believes that you unknowingly passed it, thinking it was real, then they keep it, you get nothing in return, and they let you go. If they believe that you knew it was bad, even if you got it innocently from another source, then they keep it, you get nothing in return, and they arrest you.

The last bad bill I got – a $20 – was ridiculously bad. It was just a color photocopy on plain paper. I got it with four other $20′s when I had to give a State toll collector a $100 going over the Golden Gate. No possible way did even a knuckle-dragging State employee not recognize it as bad. But the way they give you your change all folded up small, I’ll admit, I didn’t even unfold it till I got out of my car, and then it was obvious.

The growth of counterfeit money or fake money being produced each day is constantly growing. While the economy sinks deeper into the ground, people are desperate to acquire money by any means necessary. People may decide to steal money, or just steal things so they don’t have to buy them.

But there is a new craze, and it’s easier and safer than robbing a store. It’s a way people can get money in a safe and secret way. This way is the creation of counterfeit or fake money. It’s very rare that employees at a store will check a bill to see if it’s real or not. More and more people every day find new and creative ways to make funny money. A simple way is just a double sided copy machine. People feel it’s a safe and easy way to get what they want without getting caught. Even though they know it’s a crime and is as illegal as robbing a bank, they feel that it’s safe and they won’t get caught. This is due to the lack of awareness about fake money. The most common places where people use fake money are on the street corner store, and concession stands, basically smaller businesses. They figure, who will check for fake money behind an ice cream stand. But that’s exactly where these people go. They will usually buy a three dollar item with a fake 50 or 100 dollar bill, so they can get real money as change. These are the people who need to be the most cautious.

Don’t worry though, because I come to you with a solution and an answer to this problem. Because of the economic crisis and the widely spreading use of counterfeit money, it’s becoming more popular to carry a counterfeit pen in your store. A counterfeit pen detects counterfeit money, if it’s fake it will write a black mark if its real it will be a light yellow. All this act requires is to simply take a cap off a pen and make a mark. The pen never lies and is always accurate. It works by reacting to materials and chemicals in a real bill, and it doesn’t just work for American currency but it works for almost all currency used around the world.

There is no possible way to make fake money that will pass the counterfeit pen test. The only way to make fake real money is to make money the way the Mint makes it. Which require an investment of over a few hundred million dollars, so that’s not happening, and realistically impossible.
