How do you work the cash register at old navy?
Is it really hard working the cash register at old navy? I was just hired and I want to know what to expect from working on the cash register, because I’m a little nervous.
Someone will train you and believe me having 4 retail jobs cash registers these days are so self explanatory and take you step by step within a month that register will be second nature to you!!! A monkey can run a register!! Congrats on getting a job tho!!

The Person Who Invented or Patented the Cash Register
The cash register is an essential business tool that is often overlooked as one of the transforming mechanizations of the industrial age. A cash register records the amount of a sale, supplies a receipt to the customer, and keeps a permanent journal of daily transactions. The cash register was apparently invented out of desperation.
From the past, people had thought about the way to keep track of sales. It was begun early at 5,000 BC. And, in the late 19th century, the advance of technology helped people to create the cash register. This device is very helpful for merchants to keep their money safe from the theft.
An abacus was the first type of register. It was used by merchants in Mesopotamia around 5000 BC and ancient Egypt in 3000 BC. It was a frame that held beads that were suspended on wires.
Then, in the 19th century, a lot of merchants used a simple cash drawer to hold money and receipts. In 1878, James Ritty from Dayton, Ohio made a register to stop the theft that was done by his employees in his salon. This became the amazing finding at the time.
It is no wonder that in November of 1879, for his first register, Ritty received a patent. His invention was called “Ritty’s Incorruptible Cashier.” Different from the register of today, his register did not have a cash drawer. However, it could count the total of sales.
In the 1880s, James Ritty opened a manufacturer to mass produce his register. Unfortunately, he sold his company to a group of investment. In 1884, the investment group changed its name to be the National Cash Register Company. In 1974, the National Cash Register Company became NCR Corporation. Luckily, the company became the leading manufacturer that was successful to spread his products in the United States by 1915.

Before anyone starts getting suspicions and whatnot, this is strictly for a play that my friend and I are writing. I want to make certain everything makes sense with this. So, on average, how much cash would be in a small, deli cash register?
depends on time of day and customer base a drawer usualy opens with $50 by noon (after lunch) probably $150-$250 if its a busy place $400 or more.
